RPI2v2 Stacking Information

It is possible to stack up to two RPI2v2 modules on a single Raspberry Pi to provide up to four channels. If you need more than this then please look at our RPI3 module which provides 8 channels.

To allow you to stack your RPI2v2s we sell a stacking kit, please see the "Misc Components" part of our shop for this. It consists of a 2x20 header and four 24mm spacers (usually supplied as eight 12mm ones screwed together in pairs). If you are stacking on a Raspberry Pi Zero this will, together with the spacer sets supplied with your two RPI2v2 modules, allow you to fit mountings at all four corners. If you are stacking on any other Raspberry Pi then you will have some bits left over as you will only be able to mount using two of the holes.

To install the second RPI2v2 install the first one as per normal on your Raspberry Pi but do not put on the top washers and nuts. Instead screw on the 24mm spacers and push the 2x20 header onto the pins of the GPIO header on the first RPI2v2. Then you should be able to fit the second RPI2v2 on top of this and then secure it with a washer and nut on each support.

In order to ensure that OWFS can see all the channels ensure you have your owfs.conf set up as per the dual channel RPI2v2 instructions on the software page.
